The 2012 Bishop’s Fund Appeal is nearing its goal of $1.25 million.

As of May 2, a total of $1,202,63 had been received in cash and $40,212 in pledges to be paid by June 30, for a total of $1,242,854 in cash and pledges.

This bring the appeal to $7,145 away from  its goal.

“Thank you to all who have made contributions to the 2012-2013 Bishop’s Fund Appeal,” Valerie Mathews,  the diocesan Bishop’s Fund director, said. “Your gifts will enable the diocese to continue the vital ministries that assist individuals and families who are facing sickness, job loss and other tragedies; offer education to seminarians, deacons, lay ministers and children and provide youth programs to teens across the diocese.”

Contributions are still being accepted and may be sent to:  The Bishop’s Fund Appeal, PO Box 150, Ogdensburg, NY  13669. Gifts can also be made online at www.rcdony.org/development by clicking  on “Donate Now” in the menu bar at the top of the page.

“Your gift, whatever the amount, helps the diocese reach out to thousands each year,” Mrs. Mathews said. “If you have not already done so, please prayerfully consider a gift to support this year’s appeal.”
