Archives Plattsburgh 40 Days for Life reaches midpoint
Rally set for April 3 encourages strong finish

April 2, 2014

Plattsburgh – “It’s 20 days completed, 20 days to go of our 40 Days for Life campaign of prayer, fasting, vigil and outreach,” said Nancy Belzile, who is coordinating the effort in Plattsburgh.

“It’s time to gather members of the community at the causeway in front of Planned Parenthood of the North Country April 3 at 1 p.m. to share stories and encourage one another to finish strong as we pray for an end to abortion in our community,” she said.

40 Days for Life is a peaceful, non-denominational initiative that focuses on 40 days of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil at abortion facilities, and grassroots educational outreach. The 40-day time frame is drawn from examples throughout Biblical history.

Plattsburgh is one of 251 communities conducting simultaneous 40 Days for Life campaigns from March 5 to April 13.

“We want to thank all the people who’ve made great personal sacrifice to make 40 Days to Life happen,” said Belzile. “We also know that we still have a long way to go in our collective effort to demonstrate the harm abortion has done – and continues to do – to Plattsburgh.”

“For the remainder of the 40 days of prayer and fasting and community outreach, we intend to gather for continuous prayer in the public right-of-way outside Planned Parenthood of the North Country at 66 Brinkerhoff Street. We look forward to the challenge of bringing 40 Days for Life to an energetic conclusion,” said Belzile.
