Father Bryan D. Stitt Year for Priests Page

Father StittDate of Ordination- July 19, 2003
Current Assignment- St.Patrick's in Colton with its Missions of St.Michael's in Parishville and St.Paul's in South
Colton; Plus Associate Vocation Director and Chaplain of Catholic Scouting

1.) What's your favorite prayer?
After the Mass it's a tossup between the Rosary and the Memorare (It depends on if I have 15 minutes to pray
or just 15 seconds.)

2.) Favorite saint?
St. Augustine and St. Therese. I find great complementarity between these two Doctors of the Church.

3.) A holy moment in your priesthood:
The funeral of my grandfather, the wedding of my sister, the baptism of my niece, and every time I get a chance
to visit my cousin and her community of Carmelite Sisters in Alhambra, CA.

4.) Something you've learned from your brother priests (or a particular priest):
That even though we can be very very different, the charity and support of the
priesthood is essential.

5.) Favorite part of being a priest:
There is nothing like celebrating the Sacraments when you are with people that are aware of the Mysteries that
they are tapping into.

6.) Advice for young people considering a vocation
What does a good child do if he thinks he hears his mother calling him? He searches her out and finds out what she wanted. If you
think that God may be calling you, respond. Don't wait. Go and seek Him out. If He's not calling you, He'll let you know.

7.) Something about you that few people would know:
I like to fly fish. Not that I catch many fish doing so. But like catching a fly with chopsticks, you feel as though you accomplish
something great when you do so.

8.) Favorite temporal (nonchurchy) things:
Hiking, movies, skiing

9.) Favorite food:
My Czechoslovakian greatgrandmother's chicken paprikash
