Father James SeymourDate of Ordination- Oct.10, 1987
Current Assignment- Director of Priest Personnel,Pastor St. Raphael’s Church,Heuvelton, SS
Philip & James Church, Lisbon

1.) What's your favorite prayer?
Maranatha, “Come Lord Jesus”

2.) Favorite saint?
Mary, Mother of Jesus

3.) A holy moment in your priesthood:
Watching and listening to a grieving, heart-broken father sing praise to God as we carried
the body of his young daughter to the cemetery in Mollendo, Peru.

4.) Something you've learned from your brother priests (or a particular priest):
We are wounded healers.

5.) Favorite part of being a priest:
Celebrating the Mass and Sacraments. I remember in particular officiating at the weddings of my sisters,
brother, and extended family members.

6.) Advice for young people considering a vocation
Don’t be afraid to talk with someone about it and then give seminary a try. Be open to the Spirit and God will let
you know if it is for you or not.

7.) Something about you that few people would know:
Even though I never played soccer, I coached high school soccer for two years prior to seminary. We won one game in those two years but that
game was as if we won the World Cup. I enjoyed it very much. I would have considered a career as a professional
soccer coach but no one ever asked me.

8.) Favorite temporal (nonchurchy) things:
Sitting by the St. Lawrence River in 80 degree weather and hiking or camping in the Adirondacks.

9.) Favorite food:
That’s easy. Spaghetti and meatballs!
