Sixty five years ago – in March 1946 - Bishop Bryan J. McEntegart, the fifth bishop of the Diocese of Ogdensburg, launched the North Country Catholic to foster “a growing sense of unity and common interest among the faithful” of northern New York. From then until now, every bishop of the diocese has relied on the North Country Catholic to be a source of information, evangelization and unity for the 96,882 members of our Catholic family. The diocesan newspaper is the most effective tool we have to spread the news of the Catholic Church from one side of our diocese to the other. With the Bishop of the Diocese as its publisher, the NCC prints 45 issues per year. Darcy Fargo is the Editor and Communications Director; Christine Ward is the editorial assistant.
